Friday, oh Friday. We made it! I was so tired this morning I felt like crying. Laila was so tired still that she did cry so I put both of us back to bed and sat Macy in front of Netflix.
Even though I could have slept for another couple of hours, apparently Laila only needed a little cat nap for forty minutes. I tried putting Laila on the floor with some toys and laying down in front of her but she wasn't having it. So, I picked myself up off the floor and as I walked by the front door I happened to notice a shiny white package on the front porch. It was just what I needed to wake me up! It was just some fabric that I ordered, but it is always exciting to get a package I think.
When I finally got around to having breakfast at 11:00 I made sure to ask Macy this time if she wanted a bagel too. "No thanks" she said. "I want pickles."
When Laila was finally ready for her regular nap, I laid her down and hopped in the shower. When I got back out she was screaming like she was being tortured and I realized that I had put her down without her fuzzy blanket. I guess she likes it.
Later in the afternoon I dropped Macy off at a play date and then went to the store. The whole time I was out I debated whether or not I was going to take the kids to the spring fling carnival. It's not that I didn't want to support the school, it's just that I didn't want to fight my way through crowds of kids and spend fifty bucks on tickets so the kids could all play five games. But, since I didn't want to disappoint my kids either, I decided on a compromise. Instead of the carnival, we would get some pizza and go to the park, and then go to Chuckee Cheese's. Josh even made it home to join us!
Aww shucks, I know I'm cute!
This is Laila's new look. Already showing signs of attitude!
Samm has been saving up tickets for quite a while now. It kills me to think of how much money we spent on tokens just for her to get those prizes.
Even though Laila likes her fuzzy blanket, she LOVES my hair. For some reason it is soothing to her to play with it while she eats or when she is tired. If only it was a little bit longer.
At this very minute, the kitchen is a mess, I'm watching xtreme parenting with Barbara Walters, and my date is asleep in his usual spot. I guess I should go to bed too.
This has been a fun week for me. I hope you it wasn't too boring for anyone. Even though I'm super tired from staying up way too late every night and really this has turned out to be the opposite of a usual week for me, I'm glad I did it. If anything else, it forced me to look at everything that happened each day (especially the messes) as something to blog about.

Hey Sis, even though I'm the oldest of the seven in our family I don't think I really appreciated how hard it is to be the mom of a large family until I read your blog posts about your week.
P.S. The picture with James' backpack left right in the middle of the kitchen floor is funny.
P.P.S. Laila is super cute.
I have enjoyed this week. Also makes me realize I have more to blog about than I think. I am going to copy your idea this coming week. If I can only remember to take pictures.
I've loved all of your posts this week. I'm sorry I haven't commented, but I looked forward to each one this week. You're amazing for managing the chaos! I remember what it was like with one crying, demanding newborn.. so yeah you and everyone else with more than one small child is amazing to me.
Keith suggested that I do the same as you on our blog. When I told him that meant including pictures of unfolded laundry and dirty kitchen floor he changed his mind. Truth is, everyone likes to know that they're not the only ones that don't have it all together all the time. Thank you for being brave enough to share your week. It was great!
Also, I agree packages on the front step are the best!
Well Keith, if it makes you feel any better, I thought I knew everything about having kids since I of course did everything growing up. Ya, I had no clue how hard being the mom really is. No teenager could ever understand the mental and emotional exhaustion that mothers go through.
