Shave/Save Your Shirt

A few weeks ago I was talking to a friend when she commented that she really liked my shirt. I told her that it was one of my favorite shirts and that I was really bummed because it was pilling really bad and I probably wasn't going to wear it anymore because it looked terrible. (Pilling is when you get all those little fuzzy balls on your shirt. It happens to me a lot right under my arms) Anyway, she quickly told me not to get rid of it, and that  all I had to do was pull the shirt taught while I was wearing it and run a Bic razor over it and problem solved! 

This morning I finally wore the shirt again so I pulled out my cheap little razor that I had bought and sure enough, look at all the fuzz coming off! I had to lint roller myself when I was done.

I have a couple cardigans I can't wait to tackle next!

"Little Black Dress"

You've heard it before I'm sure. The saying that "every girl needs a little black dress." I've never actually found this to be true and as such I have never owned one. Now my best friend (who is really more like a sister than a friend) is getting married and wants her bridesmaids (I'm so excited about having this job!) to wear a black dress with bright yellow shoes! So cute, right?

I have a problem though. A few actually. 1.) I don't live anywhere near good shopping which means the chances of finding one here are slim to none. 2.) It needs to be modest. 3.) there are actually a lot of really cute dresses online so how will I ever decide!

That's where you come in. I know it's a selfish post but I need your help! Every girl needs a friend with her when she shops to say "yes" or "no" (and the occasional "definitely not"). Fabulous Friday: How To Tie A Scarf

I love this time of year; when the weather turns cold and it's time to trade in my shorts for pants and my T's for lucious layers of warmth!

I put a scarf on yesterday for the first time this season and it made me so happy. I've always been a fan of the scarf. It's a fun and stylish way to keep me just a little extra warm (which believe me living out here in the Colorado Rockies I definately need)! But, what made me even more happy this time around is that I was shown a new way to tie my scarf and I am in love with it!!

Thanks to my fashion forward friend Ashley for showing this to me only weeks ago so that I can now share it with all of you.

Start by folding your scarf in half lenghthwise then wrap around your neck so that the fold hangs on one side making a loop and the two ends hang on the other:

Next, take the inner loose end and put it through the loop going from the inside (closest to your body) out:

Now take your other loose end and put it through the loop the opposite way, going from the outside of the loop in toward your body:

Finish it off by tightening everything up to your neck. It should look like this:

Now you have the option of leaving it hanging in the middle, moving the knot to the side (my personal favorite), or placing the knot on your shoulder and drapping one end to the front of you and one end down the back.

Cute right?

Now Bundle up and "Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!" (That was me singing for you. Thank goodness there's no sound!)
